Conductive Keratoplasty is a type of refractive surgery which does not use laser to correct patients’ vision. Conductive Keratoplasty can usually correct hyperopia and is especially helpful in age related farsightedness. The patient should use antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and dilute anesthetic eye drops based on the recommendations of Dr. Boothe. Pain and discomfort after surgery is very rare, although if it occurs, Dr. William Boothe may prescribe some anesthetic and topical medications. Most of the patients can go to work on the very next day following the surgical procedure.

Patients have to be cautious while swimming and showering. Avoid rubbing the eye or applying mascara. Some may experience vision fluctuations for several weeks. Only 1% of post-op eye complications are associated with conductive keratoplasty.
